Is Raw tapings happening at Pepsi Arena?
Even though the WWE still plans to go to Denver next week for their Raw taping, there’s very little chance that it can be held at the Pepsi Center. The Denver Nuggets are deep into the playoffs and it’s the first time they’re in the Western Conference Finals in 24 years. True, the Nuggets schedule officials didn’t anticipate that they would be in this position several months ago, Vince McMahon doesn’t really stand a chance barring a court order that would allow them to use the Pepsi Center. But then again, who’s going to sign that order when Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony could bring the city to playoff glory?
To counter this issue, the WWE released a statement in WWE.com stating that several arenas including the Madison Square Garden and Staples Center have offered the company to hold the Raw tapings. They also stated that there are other arenas in the Denver area that would have the capacity to hold an event like it. There have been reports that the tentative plan is to hold the event at World Arena in Colorado Springs. The WWE reportedly tried to book more than 100 hotel rooms for Sunday night. The current plans are always subject to change. We will have more on the issue as the story progresses.
