“The Great American Bash” will be changing to “The Bash”
This week, we received reports that the WWE is changing the PPV event’s name from “The Great American Bash” to simply just “The Bash”. The reported reason behind this change is that the former reminds Vince McMahon too much of the WCW. If that were the case, why not totally change the name? “The Bash” doesn’t really give it much of a kick, does it?
Earlier this year, ECW One Night Stand also got a name change. The PPV is now called “Extreme Rules” and will take place on June 7 in Los Angeles. Based on extreme match rules, there will be no disqualifications, meaning “anything goes”. In the matches announce so far, John Cena will take on The Big Show in a Submission Match while Jeff Hardy will try to take the championship away from Edge in a Ladder Match.
