Wrestling Bits Saturday, 9th May 2009 Former WWE and TNA wrestler Shane Douglas was spotted in the backstage of a WWE Smackdown/ ECW taping this week in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He previously worked with TNA as a backstage reporter and left TNA in early 2007. He is reportedly planning to hold a final ECW reunion show this year.

Wrestling Bits Saturday, 9th May 2009 If you’re wondering why Gregory “Hurricane” Helms hasn’t been seen inside a wrestling ring these days, it’s because he’s currently recovering from an injury. Helms recently returned to wrestling after a long hiatus also because of a serious injury. The WWE currently plans him to be the backstage reporter in ECW to give him some TV time and to continue to develop his character on screen.

Wrestling Bits Saturday, 9th May 2009 The WWE plans to release John Cena’s movie12 Rounds” into DVDs this June 30. It will be released in both standard DVD and Blu-ray. The latter will contain an “Extreme Cut”, which will feature additional material and two alternate endings. John Cena fans must be really excited (insert sarcastic smirk here).

Wrestling Bits Saturday, 9th May 2009 Tiffany might be on the chopping block soon. Many people in the backstage think that her delivery is weak and she’s not projecting well. The current General Manager of ECW hasn’t made a good connection with the fans according to reports and the WWE could soon replace her from the position. The company is reportedly gearing towards ECW original Tommy Dreamer as her successor. Dreamer’s contract is up soon and should he re-sign with the company, handling the General Manager role in ECW could be the sweetener in the deal. We will hear more as the story develops in the coming weeks.

Wrestling Bits Saturday, 9th May 2009 In a recent interview with IGN, The Rock had this to say about John Cena. “I don’t look at myself for being a trailblazer in any way, or paving the way or anything like that, I just know what serves me. John is… umm… he’s an interesting guy! And I wish him well in his movie career and, umm, everything else… Haha.” If you remember The Rock in the ring, he always had something to say and it pretty much is the same outside. “The Great One” will next appear in the Disney adaptation of the classic “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, probably as Captain Nemo. There’s also talks of him being interested in taking on the role of the Big Cheese, Captain Marvel and his arch-nemesis, Black Adam. Whoa! Seems like The Rock can’t get enough of himself these days.

Wrestling Bits Saturday, 9th May 2009 Speaking of John Cena, there have been rumors that he will be playing, gasp, Captain America in the movie adaptation of the character. Before you bang your war drums, fanboys, please remember that it’s just a rumor and he wasn’t called up by Marvel. Cmon, guys, that’s what the internet is for, spreading worthless crap. Now, on to Edge playing the role of Thor
