If you thought your favorite champ would retain their title forever, you were wrong. The upcoming Night of Champions (PPV July 26th) is going to force every WWE to defend their title. Who will remain champion and who will walk away empty handed? Only time will tell – and the only thing for certain is that the Night of Champions promises to be a night full of surprises and championship bouts.

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H
In what is arguably the most anticipated match of the night, the current WWE Champ Randy Orton will be forced to defend his title against both Cena and Triple H. At this point, it is really anybody’s guess as to who will reign victorious at the end of the bout. However, fans of any of these three powerhouse wrestlers are guaranteed a match for the ages. Can Orton defend and keep his title? We’ll see…

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy
To say that Jeff Hardy has had a frustrating year would probably be the understatement of the year. And it is about to come to a head in his match with World Heavyweight Champ CM Punk. If you have been following the action, you are well aware of the animosity that exists between these two men. At The Bash, Hardy thought that he had taken the title from Punk. However, after the ref inspected things further, it was determined that Punk’s foot had been out of bounds. And then, to add insult to injury, CM Punk was disqualified for kicking the ref soon thereafter, dashing Hardy’s hopes of snagging the title.
The feud between the two men has built to a fever pitch, promising a blow-out at the Night of Champions.

Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler
While Mysterio has proven over and over that he knows how to win a match, and that he’s the Intercontinental Champ for a reason, the upcoming title match with Dolph Ziggler promises to give him a run for his money. Ziggler has taken the WWE by storm, and has proven his mettle by taking down one big name after the other. And even though Mysterio is currently at the top of his game, it is fair to say that his dominance of Ziggler is far from a sure thing. Can he retain his title against the up and coming superstar?

ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer vs. Christian
Current ECW Champ Tommy Dreamer will have to defend his title against his good friend and also former ECW Champ Christian. The two wrestlers are fairly evenly matched, and some fear that Christian’s friendship with Dreamer may give him a marked advantage against the superstar. As the Night of Champions looms on the nearby horizon, everyone is asking themselves whether Dreamer can hold onto his recently attained title, and whether or not his long-time friendship with Christian can survive the turmoil.

Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho & A Mystery Partner vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase
Edge’s recent Achilles injury has been the talk of the WWE, and for no greater reason than the fact that is has left his Unified Tag Team partner Chris Jericho in a very awkward position. He has drawn on an unusual clause in his WWE contract that allows his to choose any partner he wishes should Edge become injured and be put out of commission (which has come to pass). To make matters even more suspenseful, Jericho will not announce his chosen partner until immediately prior to the Night of Champions tag team match. Maybe he is ready to put an end to his bitter feud with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. The will have little time to formulate an effective counter attack…

Divas Champion Maryse vs. Mickie James
Despite a concerted effort by Maryse to avoid her Night of Champions competitor Mickie James, many simply don’t think that the Canadian import has it in her to take down the four –time Woman’s Champion, who has pinned Maryse to the ring countless times in the past. It also appears that Maryse’s smug attitude as struck a chord in her challenger. One thing is for certain, Maryse’s continued reign as the Divas Champion is far from sure thing…
