Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (Ben Stiller) 2009 Full Movie Review
The Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is a 2009 comedy film under 20th Century Fox. This American adventure film is a sequel of the Night of the Museum that was released in 2006. This film is directed by Shawn Levy. The film is starred by Ben Stiller (The Heartbreak Kid), Robin Williams (License to Wed), Owen Wilson (Shanghai Knights), Amy Adams (Enchanted) and many more.
Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) was working in the Museum of Natural History as a night watchman. It is closed for renovations. So the museum art pieces are moved at the famous Washington Museums. President Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams) was still on the film, together with his love interest Sacagawea (Mizuo Peck). The before enemies Jedediah Smith (Owen Wilson) and Octavius (Steve Coogan) are now good friends on their new environment. The Smithsonian Institution houses more than 136 million items that includes Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams).
Since the Museum of Natural History is closed for the moment, Larry was also hired as another caretaker at the Smithsonian. From there he met new friends and also potential enemies that include an evil pharaoh named Kahmunrah. He is the main antagonist of the film looking for the magical tablet so he can bring his allies to life. Those allies are General Custer and Al Capone. General Custer ( ) is an officer and cavalry commander of the American Civil War and Indian Wars while Al Capone is an Italian-American gangster who led a crime syndicate dedicated to smuggling and other illegal activities during the Prohibition Era of the 1920s. Larry developed a romantic interest to Amelia Earhart; within pursue to stop the evil pharaoh.
This movie is filmed in the actual Smithsonian in Washington DC. This is the first time since many Hollywood films were turned down to use the location. They have used more CGI on this film than the previous Night of the Museum movie. That includes mobilizing paintings and statues like The Thinker. Most of the cast of the previous film have a comeback and many more were added. The computer graphics are more realistic and funny. This film is an adventure movie that will excite expecting movie-goers.
The film is set to be released on May 22, 2009 for Memorial Day. The song “Fly with me” by the Jonas Brothers will be the closing credit soundtrack.
There is a video game of the same name that was released last May 5, 2009. This game was developed by Amaze Entertainment.
