This is a heart touching story of a Lion and his two best friends. Though this story is very old but was never got so famous until 2008. John Rendall and Ace Bourke in 1969 saw a lion baby for sale in a small cage at a departmental store in London. They felt very sad about it and arranged for money to buy the Lion. They named him Christian. Very soon he became part of their life enjoying every moment with them. Christian was growing very fast and their apartment was getting smaller for him. The Moravian Church in Chelsea allowed Ace, John and Christian to play on their graveyard ground. Christian used to play football with Ace and John. But Christian was growing even faster. In 1970 they managed to relocate Christian to Kora National Reserve, Africa. There he was
introduced to another Lion and a Lioness named Katiana.

After around a year in 1971, John and Ace they wanted to meet their old friend and traveled to Kenya just to meet Christian. They were advised that Christian may not remember them. But still they move on. After looking for Christian for several hours, they finally reach near Christian and what happened next is a true evident of the truth of friendship. Not only an intelligent species like human can be socially bounded into bonds of love and friend ship but animals do. In fact, animals understand this bond better than human.

As soon as Christian recognized his best friends, he started running towards them and jammed onto them with hugs and kisses. What a sight. No one can ever forget this moment. No one was sure before this except John and Ace. Of course they only knew the strength of their love and friendship bond. They were Christian’s childhood friends. This whole scene was captured and recorded. In 1973-74 John again came to meet Christian. This was his last visit to Christian.

No one knows when and how Christian died. He was a wild Lion and used to live in his own territory. It was believed that Christian had made his way to the Meru National Reserve only a few miles up river and was living there till his death.
