Lilian Annette Garcia Biography
Lilian Annette Garcia was born on August 19, 1966 in South Carolina but has spent 8 years of her childhood in Spain when her dad landed as job in the US embassy. While in Spain she was schooled on an American Military base and described herself as a military brat. When her family returned to States she finished high school in Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina and graduated Cum Laude in the University of South Carolina.
She started her singing career at an early age and has performed with a band in night clubs where her mom had to chaperon her so she could get in. Lilian was a top ten finalist in the Miss South Carolina beauty pageant and has worked with Chuck Finley in the early 80’s on the morning show on radio station WYYS, “YES 97″. She has appeared in the movie Modern Love in 1990 as a singer and was also a VJ in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lilian often sings the national anthem at various MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA games and has performed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and as an opening act for James Brown. Her first single called “Shout” was released in 2002, she is one of the two artist to have performed more than once on the Wrestlemania, the other is Aretha Franklin. She has also sung jingles for Coca-Cola, Kenctucky Fried Chicken, Toyota, Ford, McDonalds and has sung WWE Superstars Themes including Torrie Wilson’s “Need A Little Time” for the Anthologly album of WWE.
She started on WWE as a ring announcer on August 23, 1999 on the episode of Raw is War in Ames, IA. Her first angle was with Jeff Jarrett applying a figure four leglock on her when she announced Jeff’s disqualification to Luna Vachon on the September 13 episode of Raw is War. Her second angle was on December 13, 1999 where she announced Miss Kitty for a Women’s Championship Chocolate Pudding Pool Match. Lilian sang in the WWF for the first time February 14, 2000 at a house show and began singing the national anthem at television tapings later that month. In mid-2002, Lilian had a brief feud with rival announcer Howard Finkel, the night ended in an evening gown verses tuxedo match of which Lilian won with the aid of Stacy Keibler and Trish Stratus.
She made history on April 2, 2006 at WrestleMania 22 when she became the first female to announce at a WrestleMania event. Lilian took part in a Diva publication in 2007 with the release of WWE Divas Do San Antonio and on the August 6, 2007 edition of Raw she announced her new album entitled “Quiero Vivir”. She also started a feud with Jillian Hall in WWE Idol, where Lilian sang Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York until she was interrupted by Santino Marella. She later made history at WrestleMania 24 when she served as the ring announcer for the final professional wrestling match of Ric Flair.
On September 21, 2009 Jerry Lawler announced Lilian’s last day with WWE. Lilian made an emotional speech and conveyed her final good bye to WWE and fans. Check out her final day on RAW 21st September 2009
