Maryse Ouellet was born on January 21, 1983 in Montreal, Quebec and is of French and Canadian decent. She is a French Canadian glamour model and a professional wrestler currently working for WWE on its RAW brand. She started out as a beauty pageant contestant winning Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada in 2003 and winning second place in the International Miss Hawaiian Tropics in 2004. Since then she has appeared in various magazines, newspapers and television programs in Canada. On the 2006 summer edition of Playboy magazine she appeared on the cover as well as on the inside pages.

Maryse participated in the 2006 WWE Diva Search contest and made it to the finals but lost the title to Layla El, she was offered a developmental contract on August 24, 2006 and was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling for training. During the earlier days of her job she was made to sit in the front row during television tapings, join in bikini contests and appear on backstage segments. Later she began managing fellow Canadian Renee Dupree at house shows. On December 16, 2009 she made her first in ring show at a house show in Greensburg, Kentucky teaming up with Kelly Kelly, She Nay Nay, Katie Lea and Victoria Crawford against ODB, Milena Roucka, Beth Phoenix, Josie and Melody. She also participated in the 2007 “Miss OVW” competition in the spring of 2007 which was won by ODB. She also participated in the “OVW Divalympics” in the summer of 2007.

On September 25, 2007, Maryse made her debut on FCW as the valet of Ryan O’Reilly together with Lacey Von Erich when Ryan left the WWE on October 10, 2007, Maryse started competing in singles and tag team competitions. She was shown on the TitanTron welcoming viewers (in French) to the season premiere of Smackdown on September 22, 2006 edition. On January 2007 she was seen more in pre-taped vignettes welcoming views back to the show both in French and English after every commercial.

She appeared regularly on Smackdown and on March 30, 2008 at WrestleMania 24 where she joined as a Lumberjill in the Playboy BunnyMania match. Duece and Domino dumped their valet, Cherry, in favor of Maryse on May 9, 2008. She made her in-ring debut on Smackdown on May 16, 2008 where she was defeated by Cherry, since then both divas continued to feud.

She got her first title shot against Michelle McCool at Unforgiven on September and on September 23rd she gained a huge victory against Michelle McCool in a non-title match on ECW. Maryse continued to wrestle with other divas regularly and she competed in a Diva’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 25 but lost to Santino Marella. She was drafted to the RAW Brand during the 2009 WWE Draft held last April 13, 2009 making the WWE Divas Championship exclusive to the RAW brand.

Outside of WWE, Maryse is involved in the Foundation of Children General Hospital of Montreal, Quebec, since 2006 and she has a degree in Business Administration and is martial arts black belter.
