The Game: Triple H (Paul Michael Levesque) Biography Triple H is a thirteen-time World Champion professional wrestler working under the World Wrestling Federation’s Raw brand. He is one of the most decorated wrestlers in the current WWE roster and has been in the main event after the dissolution of the wrestling stable Degeneration X. In the past, he has wrestled under the names Terra Ryzing, Jean-Paul Levesque, and Hunter Hearst-Helmsley, which he later abbreviated.

Triple H was involved in a storyline marriage with Stephanie McMahon in 2000. Things took a serious tone after it was revealed that the two were actually dating in real life and were married in 2003. Together, they have two daughters, Aurora Rose (born July 24, 2006) and Murphy Claire Levesque (born July 28, 2008).

The Game: Triple H (Paul Michael Levesque) Biography Levesque was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on July 27, 2969 (although he is billed from Greenwich, Connecticut) and was a fan of professional wrestling growing up. Aside from wrestling, he also started working out as a bodybuilder. By 1992, he joined the Independent Wrestling Federation after his training at Killer Kowalski’s wrestling school. He became the IWF Heavyweight Champion under the name Terra Ryzing.

In 1994, he left the IWF for WCW and was renamed as Jean-Paul Levesque, an aristocratic heel. Along with Lord Steven Regal, they briefly formed a tag team as their characters’ personalities were a match. When the WCW denied his request to be a singles competitor, he left the company.

The Game: Triple H (Paul Michael Levesque) Biography In the WWF, he was known as Hunter Hearst-Helmsley, a takeoff from his aristocratic gimmick in the WCW. He was accompanied by different valets every week on his way to the ring, including Sable. During his time with the WWF, he became part of a backstage group called “The Kliq” along with Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman. This group was known to influence the booking decisions of Vince McMahon and the WWF creative team.

He then joined the stable Degeneration X, along with his bodyguard Chyna and Shawn Michaels. After Michaels left because of an injury, Triple H assumed the leadership role and added The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) and X-Pac (Sean Waltman) to the stable and became fan favorites due to their funny gimmicks. After Triple H left the group, he changed his image and turned heel. On August 1999, Triple H won his first WWE Championship after pinning Mankind (Mick Foley) in an episode of Raw. By 2000, he forged an alliance with Stephanie McMahon, known as the McMahon-Helmsley Era.

In the May 21, 2001 episode of Raw, Triple H suffered a serious quadriceps injury during a tag-team match. His injury forced him out of the ring and ended the McMahon-Helmsley Era. Triple H was out of action for 8 months and completely missed the infamous Invasion storyline.

The Game: Triple H (Paul Michael Levesque) Biography He returned from injury on January 2002 and captured the WWF Undisputed Championship title at WrestleMania X8. The following month, he dropped the title to Hulk Hogan. Triple H was brought over to Raw and reunite with Shawn Michaels but Triple H turned on Michaels, starting a years-long feud between the two. In 2003, he formed the dominant stable Evolution, whose members were billed as the past (Ric Flair), the present (Triple H) and future (Randy Orton and Batista). Evolution eventually imploded as Orton and Batista achieved main event status and feuded with the jealous Triple H.

After several failed attempts to regain the World title, Triple H reformed Degeneration X along with Michaels in 2006 and feuded with the McMahons. The reunion proved successful but was cut short in January 2007 when Triple H suffered a similar quad injury once more, this time on the other leg. The injury forced him out of action until August 2007, when he defeated King Booker at SummerSlam. He captured the WWE Championship twice in a span of 7 months, feuding heavily with Randy Orton. After Orton was sidelined with an injury, the feud was put to a halt and Triple H was sent to SmackDown as part of the annual WWE Draft.

After several successful title defenses, he dropped the title to Edge but regained it after winning an Elimination Chamber match at No Mercy 2009. He resumed his feud with the returning Orton and his stable, Legacy. Triple H retained his title at WrestleMania 25 against Orton but lost it at Backlash a month later. He was taken out on a stretcher after Orton punted him in the head and will be out of action indefinitely.
