WWE Champion Randy Orton had made a startling offer to Batista when he opened the show last Monday night. It seems that the Viper believes in the saying “keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer”. He had asked Batista to join the Legacy as his answer to the rule that they will not touch one another before their match on Sunday which was made by Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero. But the Animal did not just refuse the offer but made a promise to destroy the Viper come Sunday when they face each other on Judgment Day.
Irritated at being called “predictable”, Vickie Guerrero came out to withdraw her no contact rule and made an unpredictable decision to have a new opening match for Raw where Batista will face Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBaise in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match where if the Animal scored a victory, he will face The Legend Killer one-on-one but if he fails, he will have to face both Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase along with the Viper in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match.
With his desire to get even, The Animal accepted the challenge and though the odds are against him, he was able to turn things into his favor. Seeing things are turning to Batista’s way, Rhodes went outside the ring to retrieve a steel chair into the ring. The referee didn’t see who brought the chair in, however he did see Batista pick it up and swing it which led to his disqualification. Losing the fight meant facing the Viper in yet another outnumbered match. However, due to the injuries that the Animal has inflicted on the cohorts of Orton, the Viper had to face the Animal by himself.

The Viper again tried to convince Batista that there was no sense in facing each other before their match on Sunday but the Animal remained unconvinced. He attacked Orton with ferocity that surprised his opponent and attacked him with a steel chair resulting in yet another disqualification. But the match did not end there, he then threatened to use the steel chair on the Viper mirroring what Orton did on Shane O’mac a week ago. But to Orton’s relief his injured allies came and stopped the Animal. To his frustration, the Animal went ahead and leveled both his opponent’s associates as the Viper slithered away.
