This was a memorable Raw, happening a week after Mr. McMahon bought Monday night Raw back from the clutches of The Donald (seriously, what was Donald Trump going to do with Raw??) Most notably, Mr. McMahon announced a huge (unprecedented) 15-star trade initiated by Trump that will be bringing 5 new stars to the roster. In addition, another shocker (in the form of weekly guest hosts) was announced. Immediately following, guest host numero uno took center stage: Batista himself.

29th June 2009 - Watch and Read WWE Raw Full Highlights Randy Orton vs. Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger vs. Mark Henry
In the 3 on 1 Gauntlet match, things got ugly fast, but Randy Orton was able to ground “Air” Bourne fairly early on, with an RKO from the top ropes, and quickly follow it up with the pin. After taking out Bourne, The Viper next opponent was Jack Swagger. And while fans of the Universe were expecting a toe-to-toe match that would give Orton a run for his money, Swagger left the ring, allowing Orton a win by count-out. Much to the disappointment to everyone looking for a good bout. Finally, Orton matched up with The World’s Strongest Man, aka: Mark Henry. Unfortunately for Henry, brute strength alone was never going to be enough for his to get the better of The Viper, and Henry almost became the second fighter of the night to lose by count-out. Unfortunately for The Viper, Henry returned to the ring at the last moment, and was able to pin Orton and take the match.

While his match against Big Show didn’t pose a threat to his hold on the title United States Champion, Kofi Kingston was still fighting for another title opportunity. Unfortunately for both bruisers, their bout ended with no winner in sight after a double count-out.

Mickie James vs. Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix, and Rosa Mendes
Mickie James, in a surprising upset, was able to take down all three of her opponents in a riveting four diva free-for-all. This win guaranteed Mickie the chance to battle for the Divas title at the Night of Champions. She now has the opportunity to take on current Diva Maryse one-on-one.

John Cena vs. The Miz
After a brutal and humiliating take down by John Cena at The Bash, The Miz was looking forward to the opportunity to redeem himself in front of fans and foe alike. Unfortunately, victory wasn’t in the cards for The Miz, and Cena handed him yet another smack down. This gives John Cena the right to face Triple H on the next Raw, potentially setting the super-star up for WWE Title No. 1 contendership.

Edge and Chris Jericho vs. Carlito and Primo
After losing to Edge and Chris Jericho at The Bash, Carlito and Primo called for a rematch almost immediately. Unfortunately for them, their luck was no better on the 28th of June than it was on the 27th, and they were once again shown first-hand why Edge and Jericho deserve their current tag team gold. The brothers from San Juan never stood a chance.

Triple H vs. MVP
In a bout that would secure Triple H’s right to advance in the Night of Champions Tourney. Indeed, even though he was still suffering from some lingering injuries from The Bash, Triple H was able rise to the challenge and defeat MVP, knocking the wind out of his sails and the momentum out of his rise to the top.
