Mr. McMahon comes to SmackDown
The show opens with Vince McMahon walking into the ring and cutting a promo. He talks about the arena smelling of fear, telling the audience that they are afraid of losing their jobs. He then talks about Donald Trump and they show a clip of Vince “firing” Trump at Raw.

SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long then is summoned to the ring and Vince tells him that he better have something exciting for tonight’s episode. Long then announces that Edge and Chris Jericho will take on Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio in a “Rage in a Cage Match”. Vince is still not impressed so Long adds CM Punk as the special guest referee in the match. Instead of firing Long, Vince puts him in probation. We then go to a break.
  

R-Truth vs. Shelton Benjamin
R-Truth comes out dancing and does his “What Up?” thing. He’s still dancing in the ring when Shelton Benjamin comes out with a microphone. He insults R-Truth’s lack of education and assures a victory in their match. As it turns out, Benjamin was all talk as R-Truth was able to hit his finisher (now called the “Lie Detector”) on Benjamin to win the match.

Backstage, Rey Mysterio is prepping up for his match when he runs into Theodore Long and Vince McMahon. Vince makes a joke about Rey’s height. He then tells Rey that if Jericho beats him at The Bash, Jericho could be doing him a favor because he thinks wearing that mask is stupid anyway. Rey then speaks something in Spanish and walks away, leaving McMahon wondering if Rey cursed him. Vince then issues a new rule: English will be the only language spoken in SmackDown!

Michelle McCool & Alicia Fox vs. Women’s Champion Melina & Gail Kim
Next, we have a preview of a match at The Bash as Melina and Gail Kim go up against Michelle McCool and Alicia Fox. Michelle McCool was able to get the win for her team after dodging a falling heel smash from Gail Kim and turns it into a Faith Breaker. The heels celebrate their win at the ramps while Melina checks on Gail Kim, who’s holding her jaw, still feeling the effects of the finisher.

Backstage, CM Punk is taping his arms when Vince and Teddy Long approach him. Vince congratulates Punk on cashing the Money in the Bank contract. He asks if Punk really is Straight Edge and he said Teddy thinks it’s all an act. Punk says that he’s for real and accuses Teddy of thinking it’s all an act, and then walks away. McMahon smiles and tells Teddy that let this be a lesson to him.

Back in the ring, Cryme Tyme is introducing us to a new word: Jackin’. It mean’s to steal. Jesse then comes out to the ring, wearing hip-hop clothes and some bling, doing some lame rap. Cryme Tyme then brushes him off and leaves the spot but not without Jesse’s chain.

John Morrison vs. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk
After the break, CM Punk walks to the ring and he will have a non-title match against John Morrison. Before the match, the two men shake hands and then start off. In a shocking upset, Morrison was able to pin the World Heavyweight Champion after a series of suplexes. Punk shakes Morrison’s hand after the match and then pulls him and gives Morrison a GTS.
  

Backstage, Vince and Teddy walk into Jeff Hardy before his match. Vince tells Jeff that he hopes Jeff will lose at SmackDown because he’s a poor model for the SmackDown audience. Jeff talks back and tells McMahon to listen to the fans. McMahon is furious as Jeff Hardy walks away. Vince yells at Teddy because Jeff talked back.

Edge & Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio
At the main event, Edge and Chris Jericho took on Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio with CM Punk as the special guest referee. Edge was able to pin Jeff Hardy after hitting him with a Spear. Hardy was distracted by CM Punk and Edge capitalizes on it. After the match, CM Punk raises his championship belt in the ring while Jeff Hardy walk up the ramp.
