Edge and Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk and Jeff Hardy
After an explosive and controversial bout at The Bash, in which CM Punk retained his title after losing to Jeff Hardy, it was no wonder that the two were unable to get their stuff together in a tag team match against Edge and Chris Jericho. In fact, the new Unified Tag Team Champions had no problem defeating their less than cohesive opponents. Especially after Jeff Hardy tried to tag CM Punk in not once, but twice. Both times, Punk refused the tap, claiming to be in pain and clutching his previously injured eye. One can only assume that this is the reason that, later in the match, Jeff Hardy likewise refused Punks tap-in; clutching his eye in feigned pain, and falling to the mat. This move left his “partner” to face a beating from his Champion opponents. After the bout, Hardy looked upon the crowed, wide-eyed with wonderment. It was clear that he had taken his revenge on Punk in his own way. Now, more than ever, it is assured that the feud between the two fighters is far from over.

Kane vs. Rey Mysterio
Kane took down the new Intercontinental Champion, Rey Mysterio in a white knuckle smackdown on July 3rd. While Mysterio desperately tried to hold onto the momentum he had set into motion at The Bash, he was no match for the vicious, determined Kane. After winning the bout match through the use of a deadly and unforgiving chokeslam, Kane still wasn’t through pummeling Rey Mysterio. Fortunately for Rey, he had an ally in The Great Khali, who blasted into the ring with a steel chair to inflict his own brand of punishment on Kane – likely due to the fact that Kane burst into Khali’s bout with Dolph Ziggler at The Bash, costing Khali the win. In an surprising show of weakness, Kane did not stand his ground against the interloping Khali, and instead retreated, terrified, into the crowd.

Melina and Maria vs. Michelle McCool and Layla
Although Michelle McCool was able to best Melina at The Bash, it clearly didn’t up her confidence level. During their tag team bout on July 3rd, Michelle all but fled the scene and her former opponent’s bitter rage. She tagged out early, leaving an unfortunate Layla at Melina’s mercy, and practically handing the win to Melina and Maria.
