Nine days before Judgment Day and the WWE Superstars are starting to feel the need to be part of the World Championship main event. And one of the latest entries to the list of Superstars who wants to compete for the said title is Chris Jericho. SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long was welcoming Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio back to SmackDown when Chris Jericho interrupted him to demand a World Heavyweight Championship Match. To the Intercontinental Champion’s contempt he pushed Jericho to the ground and walked out just as the new No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Champion title, Jeff Hardy, informed Jericho that if he beats Hardy later that evening he could be added to the World Heavyweight Championship Match at Judgment Day. Jericho tried to attack him but ended up in dismay.

Later that evening, Chris Jericho faced Jeff Hardy with the hope to get that spot on the World Heavyweight Championship match however his dream remained a dream that evening for Rey Mysterio came to the picture to distract him which gave Hardy the opportunity to hit him with the Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb which denied him that spot that he wanted.

As if his loss wasn’t enough, Mysterio showed how disgusted he was with Jericho by reigning down on Jericho from the top rope as Hardy pursued Edge who lost that evening to CM Punk that evening. He lost by count-out after refusing to return to the ring during their match which denied CM Punk to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. After the bell, Umaga once again came into the picture and took Punk out with the Samoan Spike. This attack prompted The Staightedge Superstar to challenge the Samoan warrior on a match at Judgment Day.

Although Dolph Ziggler was able to prove to the WWE Universe that he will be the last Superstar standing when he issued an open challenge to anyone in the SmackDown Lovker room, he lost by disqualification for he achieved his goal by using a steel chair in attacking The Punjabi Playboy “The Great Khali” who had answered his call.

Michelle McCool defeated Gail Kim via a devastating Faith Breaker and Mike Knox won over R-Truth by utilizing a Spinning Reverse STO to overcome his opponent in his SmackDown Debut.

After losing to John Morrison in their match last week, The Gold Standard witnessed how The Shaman of Sexy defeated his former World’s Greatest Tag Team partner Charlie Haas whom he accompanied to the ringside.
While Eve found herself on the wrong end of a neckbreaker after she defeated Layla in Cryme Tyme’s Hand Slammin’ Jammy Jam Challenge.
